Who would have thought that a young Thai girl would become a global superstar? Lisa Manoban, the famous idol from BLACKPINK, has proven that dreams can come true. Behind her success, however, lies the unwavering love and support of her mother.
Rewind to 2010, when 13-year-old Lalisa auditioned for YG Entertainment in Bangkok. With her mother’s full support, Lisa seized this golden opportunity and became the company’s first foreign trainee.
“Mom encouraged me to audition,” Lisa once revealed in a TV show. “Without her, there would be no BLACKPINK’s Lisa today.”
That decision wasn’t easy. Sending a 14-year-old daughter to live alone in a foreign country required immense courage. But Lisa’s mom believed in her daughter’s dream.
Throughout Lisa’s five-year training period at YG, her mother provided daily encouragement via phone calls. Despite the distance, their bond never weakened.
“Whenever I felt tired or discouraged, Mom would say, ‘You can do it.’ It gave me strength to keep going,” Lisa shared, tears in her eyes.
When BLACKPINK debuted in 2016, Lisa’s dream became a reality. The first person she called was her mom. “Mom cried with joy. We both cried together over the phone,” Lisa revealed.
Today, even as Lisa enjoys worldwide fame, she remains close to her mother. Whether it’s bringing her to global events or returning home to Thailand for home-cooked meals, their relationship continues to thrive.
The strong bond between Lisa and her mom inspires fans worldwide, proving that family love is a crucial force in achieving success.
